This is why we walk
Jimmy and I(Sasha) are a couple from the Ozarks, getting ready to set out on our first through hike ever. The Pacific Crest Trail has occupied our minds for far to long, so we have finally decided to go for it. Jimmy is an aircraft mechanic and I am a recent graduate, who has been studying geology. Rather than immediately pursuing my career, we have decided to take advantage of the freedom we hold and do some wandering. As expected a lot of people have questions. Mainly, why would someone ever want to WALK from Mexico to Canada? Well, we want to hike because we can. We want to hike for the people that never got a chance. All those who passed up an opportunity or maybe never got one. We want to hike to change the way we live. The PCT is more than just a hike. It’s a five month commitment of following the crest line through California, Oregon, and Washington. It’s a lifestyle, and it will change us. We are hiking for everyone that can’t. This is why we walk.
